A Man Above Reproach:
In nineteenth century London, outrageous rumours envelop the pub known as the Sleeping Dove, a veiled brothel accommodating aristocrats keen to cast off the symbols of their classes. Josephine plays piano at the Dove and is identified only as the "Bawdy Bluestocking" to the pub's clientele.

When the Duke of Lennox is taken to the Sleeping Dove, he finds himself at the Bawdy Bluestocking's piano. Although the Duke cannot avoid flirting with her, she has a history to safeguard, unstable prospects, and no time for flippant aristocracy with gentle hands. When the Duke understands the facts, will he wish he had never seen her?
A Man Above Reproach
The Duke is an affable character. Josephine is friendly as well - a resilient protagonist who luckily doesn't do irresponsible things just to demonstrate she has resilience.

A Man Above Reproach is a good read. The tale is appealing, the characters entertaining, and the dialogue natural. There is humour in the story that is sometime sarcastic and sometimes quite witty. The tempo of the book is well paced and the characters generally avoid parody.

In all, the book makes an appealing interval over which to spend a few hours.
